Upper River Services President Touts Benefits of Barge Transportation

Viewers of a La Crosse, WI television station learned about the benefits of shipping by barge during an interview with Lee Nelson, President of Upper River Services, LLC of St. Paul, MN. The interview was part of a story that appeared on WXOW - TV about the end of the 2015 “shipping season” on the upper Mississippi. Mr. Nelson took the opportunity to point out that transporting goods by barge was safer, benefitted the environment, and helped to reduce traffic congestion.

Tugboat Crew Saves Man from Sinking Boat

In the predawn hours of Thanksgiving Day, the crew of the m/v Coral Coast searched for the source of the radio distress signal in the waters off the coast of the Dominican Republic. At sunrise, they rescued a pleasure boater from an eight-foot dingy.  His vessel had sunk and he told local news media that he was alive because of the perseverance of Capt. Jame Morrissey and his crew from Dann Marine Towing, LC.  Watch the story here.
