In the wake of the catastrophic collapse of Baltimore’s Key Bridge after the containership Dali’s allision with the bridge, the tugboat, towboat and barge industry – which plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of port operations across the United States – shares the public’s strong interest in getting to the bottom of what happened, and determining how similar tragedies can be avoided in the future.

 

The investigation being conducted by government authorities will provide vital insights into what transpired leading up to this incident. We look forward to the completion of that investigation, the findings of which will be critical to making sure that any recommendations are informed by a full, comprehensive understanding of exactly what took place – and therefore more likely to be effective in preventing future tragedies.
