Lesson Plan for Slip, Trip and Fall Prevention - Beyond the Basics

This lesson plan is focused on slip, trip and fall prevention. Slips, trips and falls are the leading causes of occupational injuries in marine industries and can contribute to fall overboard incidents, the major cause of deckhand fatalities on the inland waterways system. The purpose of this lesson plan is to assist in presenting and discussing the importance of recognizing slip, trip and fall hazards and increasing hazard awareness.
